JAN NEED
Jan Need grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, taking tap, ballet, and jazz at Morton Dance Center. Ms. Need was introduced to modern dance, creative movement, and choreography while studying at Sweet Briar College where she studied with Mark and Ella Magruder. Ms. Need recently relocated back home to Indiana from California where she was on faculty at Maple Conservatory of Dance and taught as an Adjunct Professor at Soka University of America.
Ms. Need graduated in May of 2007 with a Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography from Mills College in Oakland, California. In 2005, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a certificate in Arts Management from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. While at Sweet Briar Ms. Need taught in the Children’s Class as a creative movement instructor and Director of the Children’s Dance Company. She has administrative experience with Artichoke Dance Company, The Society of London Theatre Awards, Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers and Backhausdance.
Ms. Need currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband and baby.
