andrea bergeman
Andrea Bergeman danced professionally with Ballet Memphis, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Tulsa Ballet, Peoria Ballet, and English National Ballet. With Ballet Memphis, Andrea danced roles such as Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Peasant Pas de Deux in Giselle, Don Quixote Pas de Deux, the Four Little Swans in Swan Lake, along with roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Lila York, and Trey McIntyre. After dancing as Principal Dancer with Peoria Ballet in the title role in Firebird and Cinderella, she moved on to Minnesota Dance Theatre, where roles included the Sugar Plum, Snow Queen, and Flower Queen in Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker, Emilia in Jose Limon's Moore's Pavane, the lonely girl in Carmina Burana; Dwight Rhoden's Concrete Abstractions, and Frederick Ashton's Façade. Andrea also freelanced with Tulsa Ballet in their production of Giselle, and with the English National Ballet in Derek Deane's production of Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Albert Hall.
Andrea's principal training was with Valia Seiskaya at the Seiskaya Ballet Academy and with Maggie Black at the Huntington School of Ballet. She also attended summer workshops at Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, New York State Summer School of the Arts, Tulsa Ballet, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Andrea has taught at ballet schools around the country, including the schools of Ballet Memphis, Minnesota Dance Theatre, the School of Classical Ballet and Dance in Des Moines, IA, Seiskaya Ballet, and the Maricopa County Community Colleges in Phoenix, AZ.
Andrea is also a fully certified pilates instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance and Align Pilates of Minneapolis, where she received her training in reformer, mat, cadillac, chair, and barrels.
