At the age of 11, she joined the Indianapolis School of Ballet under the direction of Victoria Lyras, as well as Roberta Wong, Michelle Merrell, Karen Scalzitti-Kennedy, Paul Vitali, and Judith Peters.
During her time at ISB, Bixler has had the opportunity to perform in The Nutcracker, Coppélia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Carnival of the Animals, Raymonda Act III, Valse Fantaisie, Swan Lake Act II, Concerto Barocco, Serenade, and Capriccio Espagnol, in addition to the School’s productions at the annual IndyFringe Festival in 2016 and 2017. Bixler has also had the privilege to perform with Dance Kaleidoscope in their performances of Cynthia Pratt’s Red Thread and Brian Honigbaum’s Remembrances.
Bixler has attended summer intensive programs with the Indianapolis School of Ballet, Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and Boston Ballet. Just after concluding Indianapolis Ballet’s debut season in May 2018, Abigail finished her high school studies at Indiana Connections Academy.
