Originally from Naples, Florida Abigail-Rose Crowell began taking dance classes at the age of two. At age eight, she started studying ballet locally with former New York City Ballet principal dancer Melinda Roy at Gulfshore Ballet. Abigail-Rose attended various summer intensives including Houston Ballet, The Rock, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Canada’s BalletJörgen and Joffrey Ballet Chicago.
She was given the opportunity to dance with Miami City Ballet for five seasons in their production of The Nutcracker. In 2010, Abigail-Rose attended North Carolina School of the Arts. She then moved to New York City at fourteen to continue her training in ballet with the prestigious Gelsey Kirkland at The Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. She later furthered her training in the Trainee Program at Joffrey Ballet Chicago.
Abigail-Rose has had the privilege of performing in many works by numerous choreographers, including George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Concerto Barocco, Stars and Stripes, and Circus Polka and Gerald Arpino’s Italian Suite and Viva Vivaldi. She has also performed in Coppélia, Swan Lake, Le Corsaier, La Vivandiére, Flames of Paris, Don Quixote, Graduation Ball, Le Conservatoire and La Sylphide.
She is honored to be a part of Indianapolis Ballet’s debut season and is ready to help bring ballet back to Indianapolis!
