Methodist Sports Medicine to Serve as Official Sports Medicine Provider for Indianapolis Ballet

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 1, 2018) – Methodist Sports Medicine announced today that they have reached an exclusive partnership agreement with Indianapolis Ballet. Methodist Sports Medicine will serve as the official orthopedic and sports medicine provider for Indianapolis Ballet and the Indianapolis School of Ballet, Indiana’s premier source for professional dance instruction and performances.

“Methodist Sports Medicine continues to expand its sports medicine presence by adding yet another professional partnership – this time with Indianapolis Ballet,” MSM’s Dr. David Porter said. “Our expertise and knowledge of working with professional athletes makes MSM and Indianapolis Ballet a perfect pair.”

“We want to thank Indianapolis Ballet for trusting Methodist Sports Medicine with its talented dancers,” MSM’s Dr. Lance Rettig said. “Methodist Sports Medicine is incredibly proud of this new partnership.”

Victoria Lyras, the founding artistic director for Indianapolis Ballet and the Indianapolis School of Ballet, is elated for the exclusive partnership.

“The expertise and personal care the Methodist Sports Medicine team provides is of immeasurable value to the Indianapolis Ballet and the Indianapolis School of Ballet,” Lyras said. “Building these types of partnerships is what it takes to recruit and retain the level of talent Indianapolis deserves.”

Methodist Sports Medicine has hired an athletic trainer, Eilish Anderson, who will be on-site for rehearsals and all residency performance dates. Anderson is a former dancer, herself.

“I understand the demands that are needed in order to perform well,” Anderson said. “I am very excited to be working with Indianapolis Ballet and I am eager to share with them my passion and knowledge of dance medicine.”

In addition to Anderson’s expertise, Indianapolis Ballet will have direct access to any and all such services extended by Methodist Sports Medicine.

Methodist Sports Medicine now serves as the official team physicians for the Indianapolis Colts and Indianapolis Ballet. Methodist Sports Medicine also serves as sports medicine providers for more than 25 Central Indiana high schools and 10 universities located in Indiana.
