young children’s program

The Young Children's Program, for four- to seven-year old girls and boys, is designed to spark innate creativity and build a foundation for more in-depth technical training.  Classes in this program include: Creative Dance for children ages 5 and under, focusing on strengthening movement/locomotive skills and flexibility, as well as stimulating rhythmic awareness and expressiveness; Pre-Ballet for six and seven-year olds, providing the beginnings of basic ballet placement, port de bras (arm movements), footwork and simple step combinations—all with strong musical emphasis.

creative movement (Ages 4-5)

The program explores both the creative and physical possibilities of each child as they gain awareness and joy through movement, rhythm and music.  Activities are designed to develop strength, coordination, flexibility, imagination and expression.  Instruction includes ballet and tap. (one class per week)

$256.50 per semester/$60 monthly • 1 hour per week

Class Attire
Girls:  Pink leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers, and black patent tap shoes
Boys:  Black biker shorts or tights, white T- shirt, white socks and white ballet shoes

pre-ballet (Ages 6-7)

This class prepares the young dancer for the school’s first level of ballet.  The children are introduced to the structure and etiquette of a ballet class.  It provides the beginnings of basic ballet placement, port de bras (arm movements), footwork and simple step combinations, terminology and musical awareness to the dance.  Instruction includes ballet and tap. (one class per week)
