Level 2 Ballet
Abigail Bixler began her dance training at the age of four at the Jordan Academy of Dance at Butler University. At the age of 11, she enrolled in the Indianapolis School of Ballet under the direction of Victoria Lyras, as well as Roberta Wong, Michelle Merrell, Karen Scalzitti-Kennedy, Paul Vitali, and Judith Peters.
Abigail joined the Indianapolis Ballet in the company’s 2018 debut season. During her time at ISB and with the company, she had the opportunity to perform classic ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppélia, Paquita, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as several of George Balanchine’s works including Serenade, Raymonda Variations, The Four Temperaments, Concerto Barocco, Rubies, Valse Fantaisie, and Who Cares? She also had the privilege to perform with Dance Kaleidoscope in their performances of Cynthia Pratt’s Red Thread and Brian Honigbaum’s Remembrances.
Though she has since retired from professional dancing, ballet still plays a huge role in Abigail’s life, and she is excited to share her love for dance with the students of the Indianapolis School of Ballet.
